If you have a work of art on canvas and you want to hand it, it needs to be stretched first!

There are a couple of methods to do this:

Standard Depth Stretch:

The standard depth stretch is the most common method and is typically done on ¾” stretcher bars. Artworks stretched on ¾” stretcher bars are general framed before being displayed.

Gallery Wrap:

Another common options for stretching is a gallery wrap. This method is generally recommended for larger artworks, or artworks that will be be framed before being displayed. The artwork is stretched onto a 1 5/8″ deep stretcher bar so it has a much bolder look!

It is however common to frame this depth of canvas and we offer many frame profiles to do this.

If you would also like to frame your stretched artwork, we generally recommend floater frames. This style of frame has a shadow gap between the artwork and the frame and allows all of the artwork to be seen.

Strip Lining:

If you would like your artwork stretched but there is not enough excess canvas around your artwork, we offer a strip lining service. Strip lining is the process of adding additional canvas around the edge of an artwork with an archival grade adhesive. This additional canvas allows for the artworks to be stretched as normal over stretcher bars.
